People always say that a long distance relationship is hard. Here are the tips I used to keep my long distance relationship for 2 years and now we are married for 1 year — also these tips can keep you from bad ‘omen’ that people say to you.
“Regular relationship itself is already hard, so why in the world I want to have a long distance relationship?” said most of people. There will be relationship problems here and there, either when they stay near to each other or in long distance. Nothing is easy honey when it comes to two people in one relationship.
Long distance relationship is a good idea if you can follow these foundations:
It’s the most important of all. If the trust in the relationship is gone, then your relationship is going to sink like the Titanic! So build trust between each other first! Trust can be gained when you are honest to each other. Honesty will be the most important part that I will include in this post.
When one of the girlfriend or boyfriend can’t Skype or Facetime with you, be prepared to accept that, especially when you have a big gap in time difference. My husband and I had a 4-hour time difference, so Indonesia time is ahead of Mauritius time. Even if Mon has to stay late to meet Dom, do not forget to return the sacrifice also. At some time, Dom has to wake up early to go to gym and then he will do Facetime earlier.
It is time to get your head on the game – do you want this relationship to work or not? If yes, better to commit to it and show her that you’re serious. This happened to both of us and even when we are fighting – in the end we still tell each other that we are serious with this relationship and we don’t want it to end just like that, without any effort.
It is best that you don’t lie – that will definitely make the other person feel insecure and the trust will be gone. For us, it is better to know what we did everyday and tell the truth. That way, we can keep the trust and not feel insecure.
When you have these four foundations, you will feel like you can overcome anything and make your relationship stronger. This is what we keep until we get married – about 1 year now, you can read HOW I KEEP MY TRANSNATIONAL MARRIAGE ALIVE.
